A short love letter
So if you had to write a short love letter what would you write?
Just a few thoughts I had. please add your own corny to romantic ideas.
- Life is short and you are hot, see you tonight.
- Your blue eyes and your beautiful face remind me of the rushing waves on a beach with a golden sunset in the background
- Did you wings fall off when you fell to earth as an angel? o wow. (when she turns around) Looks like you hit your face when you fell. (not to be used, just thought that was funny)
Ere I leave thy radiance though I must admit this too,
The depth of beauty seen in others is only outshone by you.

The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

For everything there is a season,And a time for every matter under heaven:A time to be born, and a time to die;A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;A time to kill, and a time to heal;A time to break down, and a time to build up;A time to weep, and a time to laugh;A time to mourn, and a time to dance;A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;A time to seek, and a time to lose;A time to keep, and a time to throw away;A time to tear, and a time to sew;A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;A time to love, and a time to hate,A time for war, and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
That is such a powerful passage. I simply can not read it without being moved.
Elbert Hubbard:
The love we give away is the only love we keep.
Ella Wheeler Wilcox:
All love that has not friendship for its base,Is like a mansion built upon the sand.
Emily Dickinson:
That Love is all there is, Is all we know of Love.
What an amazing statement, and to think she never wanted me to know about it.
-->Emma Goldman:
Free love? As if love is anything but free! Man has bought brains, but all the millions in the world have failed to buy love. Man has subdued bodies, but all the power on earth has been unable to subdue love. Man has conquered whole nations, but all his armies could not conquer love. Man has chained and fettered the spirit, but he has been utterly helpless before love. High on a throne, with all the splendor and pomp his gold can command, man is yet poor and desolate, if love passes him by. And if it stays, the poorest hovel is radiant with warmth, with life and color. Thus love has the magic power to make of a beggar a king. Yes, love is free; it can dwell in no other atmosphere.
- Are love and happiness always combined? It seems so, but .....
George Sand:
There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.
-->Felix Adler:
Love is the expansion of two natures in such fashion that each include the other, each is enriched by the other.
-- I never knew until I looked at you. To see what no one else can see. Only you.
Hobbes (of Calvin and ...):
I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long. If we're in each others dreams, we can be together all the time.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:
If I am not worth the wooing, I am surely not worth the winning.
- You really know me, that's all I need to know.
Henry David Thoreau:
There is no remedy for love but to love more.
- I'm an open book because I know you're mine, But you won't need to read between the lines.
Herman Hesse:
If I know what love is, it is because of you. -- I really love this one.
- The passions that collide in me, the wild abandoned side of me. Only for you, for your eyes only.
Ingrid Bergman:
A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous.
Jeanne Moreau:
Age does not protect you from love, but love to some extent protects you from age.
John Lennon:
Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear.
And of course you can't talk about love without a few quotes from Will.
-- William Shakespeare
- They do not love that do not show their love. The course of true love never did run smooth.Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love.
- For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings,That then I scorn to change my state with kings. - greatest line of all time.
- I'll follow you and make a heaven out of hell, and I'll die by your hand which I love so well.
- In thy face I see honor, truth and loyalty.
- Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts.
- Love goes toward love.
-- William Shakespeare --
part of Sonnet 116
Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or Bends with the remover to remove.
O, no! It is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken.
It is the star to every wandering bark,
whose worth's unknown,
although his height be taken.
Love sought is good, but given unsought, is better.
Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs,Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes,Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers' tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet,A choking gall and a preserving sweet.
Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts.
Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.
They do not love that do not show their love.
The courses of true love never did run smooth.
-- William Shakespeare the great master continued....
A woman would run through fire and water for such a kind heart.
It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.
Love is a spirit of all compact of fire.
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
My bounty is as deep as the sea,My love as deep; the more I give to thee,The more I have, for both are infinite.
My heart is ever at your service.
So they lov'd as love in twain Had the essence but in one;Two distinct, divisions none...
One half of me is yours, the other half yours-Mine own, I would say; but if mine, then yours, And so all yours!
Love comforteth like sunshine after rain.
Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts.
Such is my love, to thee I so belong,That for thy right myself will bear all wrong.
I'll say she looks as clear as morning roses newly washed with dew.
Journey's end in lovers meeting.
If music be the food of love, play on
No sooner met but they looked; No sooner looked but they loved; No sooner loved but they sighed; No sooner sighed but they asked one another the reason; No sooner knew the reason but they sought the remedy; And in these degrees have they made a pair of stairs to marriage...
-- William Shakespeare, As Your Like It
Doubt thou the stars are fire,
Doubt the sun doth move,
Doubt truth to be a liar,
but never doubt thy love.
-- William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act II, Scene II
“Maid of Athens, ere we part, / Give, oh give me back my heart!”
