I’ve gotten notes from a couple of you about the story in the Saturday Gazette about the Title IX problems at the University of Charleston. The school is shutting down men’s track and cross country, and as in many circumstances across the country, not to create new women’s teams, but just to get the numbers in balance:

“The moves are indirect results of a complaint filed with the Office of Civil Rights. A former UC softball player, Stephanie Kuhn, created a petition over perceived disparities in treatment between the school’s baseball and softball teams. Part of UC’s agreement to resolve the matter was attention to gender equity.

“Now that we are under the scrutiny of the Office of Civil Rights, we must take steps to increase the percentage of our athletes who are female,’’ said Dr. Ed Welch, the school's president.

According to the release, UC’s student population is 59 percent female and 41 percent male. The university sponsors eight female athletic teams, but females make up just 40 percent of the school’s athletes. A factor in that disparity is the football team.”

That can’t be helpful. If girls like sports less than boys, why punish the boys? Oh, that’s right, the cross country team was probably subliminally oppressing you

Two more days

Two more days then it comes. The race. Now just any race, the sunburst, the race I've been training for 2 years when I was first introduced to this fine sport. The pain, the agony, the sunburn, the 11 and 12 pm nights when I was running, the time I spent running on the 4th of July and other vacations, IT WILL PAY OFF NOW. I've been training hard for the last year, I've run 35 miles during spring break to enhance my form and condition. I am ready. I am ready to win. Rejoice not against me O my enemy, for when I fall I will arise.

Come celebrate with me. The adventure begins today.

If you can not run a marathon, run a half, if you can't run a half run a 10 k if you can't run a 10 k do a 5k, if you can't run a 5k walk it, You'll be glad you did. I am. Thats how it started for me, a simple 5 k walk (That
I ran). Maybe I always have loved running, but never knew it.

As Sam says "You do not like them. So you say. Try them! Try them! And you may. Try them and you may, I say." So it is with running. Warning you might get hooked--- by a bull.

I started a new blog entitled The Ultimate How to Guide. I will answer ANY How do I? question. Free answers to the worlds toughest questions.

To kick it off I will use some of my own random scenarios.
The first four will cover: How to invade planet Earth with a spaceship, a swiss army knife, and a playstation 2; How to cook food in the jungle using magnets; How to fight a bear using only sticks; and How to swim under water indefiantely.

This is the story of why I started it.
It all began when I took a chemistry class where I learned that acetone can dissolve styrofoam. From there I decided that my video blog needed an exciting video promoting it, and something that still would be fun to watch 10 years in the future.

So then I realized that information is only one piece of the puzzle. The internet is chock full of information, yet something or someone needs to make it usefull, such as google. The organization of information is the next step to facilitating dramatic change. Next is extrapolation of the data, interperting into something usefull.Most times we do this automatically. For instance when we look up a certain word in google such as fashion and are directed to a more specific site such as forever21 then we say hey that shirt looks spectacular because... using previous information.... I'd certainly look amazing in it, so I'll buy it.

Does the automatic integration of information destroy great ideas? We are limited by what we know. Stoping to review first we have the collection of information, then the organization which enables a precise selection, then integration with other information leading to a decision to combine ideas.

The last step is where the how-to idea fits in. How do you combine the data? and in what ways? So you want to build a new ultra-efficent engine. What is the first step? The 23rd?

This site will investigate The Mechanics of How-To create a 6 cycle engine that runs on water and gets 40 percent more power. Through this we will understand how the assembling of information takes place. For interest we will also examine another engine that runs on very explosive hydrogen gas (prototypes made), and a thrid engine that runs on pure air. (in testing phase, it invovles cosmic rays being transferred into energy through the absorbtion of radiation.)

Now you can fully believe that idiots control the university system. The same system that tries to tell the world who is important and valuable because they have been taught by a professor.

I am looking for a machine that can measure how hard different parts of your feet hit the ground (how much enegry they are having to absorb) and can display it in a color graph in the shape of the foot in question. If you see something like that be sure to let me know. I think it would provide invaluable information on how to design a custom shoe. Basically it would be conducting a footprint analysis of the gait motion.
